Built for the Cleaner. Focused on the Field.
PV Maintenance Monthly is the first and only digital magazine created specifically for the professional solar panel cleaning industry. From residential rooftops to commercial carports to vast utility-scale fields, we spotlight the work, wisdom, and tools of cleaners who do more than wash panels—they maintain performance, safety, and standards.
This isn’t a DIY blog or a general solar trade publication. It’s a specialized platform for professionals—those who make solar panel cleaning their career.
Our Mission
We exist to inform, inspire, and elevate the solar panel cleaning trade.
Our mission is to support cleaners across all sectors—residential, commercial, and utility-scale—by sharing actionable knowledge, field-tested techniques, business insights, and community stories that move the industry forward.
Whether you’re on your first job or your thousandth, PV Maintenance Monthly is here to:
-
Share real-world solutions from the field.
-
Highlight professional tools and gear that hold up under pressure.
-
Help cleaners grow smarter businesses with integrity.
-
Build unity across a still-developing industry.
-
Promote education, professionalism, and pride in the work we do.
We speak the language of TDS meters, DI resin, brush heads, two-story setbacks, and customer expectations. This magazine exists because solar panel cleaning isn’t just a service—it’s a craft.
Meet the Founder: Chris Vergin
PV Maintenance Monthly was founded by Chris Vergin, a pioneer in the professional solar panel cleaning space.
Chris has spent over a decade cleaning solar panels across residential neighborhoods, school campuses, corporate complexes, and utility-scale arrays. Through it all, he’s worn every hat—from crew lead to contractor to trainer—and in the process, helped shape the industry from the ground up.
He is:
-
The creator of the RAR Method (Recognize, Analyze, Resolve), a field-tested troubleshooting framework embraced by professionals across the country.
-
The founder of Solar Panel Cleaning Friends, the first online community for professional solar panel cleaners.
-
The creator and host of both the Outside the Cleaner’s Box podcast and the Solar Panel Cleaning Friends Podcast, which together ran for four years.
-
A founding member of Soilar Tech, the solar panel cleaning certification and education school.
-
The creator of SPCFonline.com, one of the industry’s first pro-focused e-commerce supply platforms for cleaning equipment, training tools, and technical resources.
Chris started this magazine to create something he wished existed when he got into the trade: a place where cleaners could learn, grow, and see themselves reflected in the stories.
What Makes PVMM Different
There’s no other publication like it in the solar world.
While others cover solar installation, policy, or energy finance, PVMM stays focused on maintenance—specifically cleaning. This is where the industry meets the technician. Where performance meets safety. Where success is measured not in theory, but in results, reliability, and repeat customers.
Every issue includes:
-
Cleaner Spotlights
-
Pro Tips and Technique Breakdowns
-
Safety, Gear, and Equipment Reviews
-
Business Strategy and Customer Education
-
Seasonal Challenges and Industry Trends
-
Editorial Columns from Industry Veterans
Powered by the RAR Method
The RAR Method—Recognize, Analyze, Resolve—guides our editorial philosophy. Developed by Chris Vergin and now taught through Soilar Tech, RAR helps cleaners approach jobs with professionalism, preparation, and flexibility.
You’ll see this framework embedded in our articles, worksheets, and case studies, helping readers solve problems the way pros do—by thinking critically, planning ahead, and documenting the work.
